Every figure on this page was read off HeyGen's own pricing page, API pricing page and help centre on 2026-07-29. Where HeyGen publishes credits rather than minutes, we converted using HeyGen's own documented rate and showed the arithmetic rather than estimating.
One thing to know before reading the table: HeyGen moved to credit-based plans, retiring the older model that mixed unlimited usage with a smaller premium-credit pool. Legacy unlimited plans still work for existing subscribers, but HeyGen states that cancelling a legacy plan or switching to a credit-based one is one-way — you cannot switch back.

Three videos per month, capped at 1 minute each. Includes access to Avatar IV and Video Agent, standard processing speed, 500+ stock digital twins, 1 custom digital twin, up to 3 photo avatars, 1 voice clone, 75+ templates and 30+ languages. Watermark removal is not included, so Free output carries HeyGen branding.
Creator — $29/month, 600 credits
The first genuinely usable tier. Raises the per-video ceiling from 1 minute to 30, adds 1080p export, fast processing, unlimited photo avatars, unlimited voice cloning, 175+ languages and dialects, credit rollovers, and — the reason most people upgrade — watermark removal. Stock avatars rise to 700+. Creator does not support one-time credit purchases; if you run out, the only path is upgrading to Pro.
Pro — from $49/month, 1,000 credits and up
Pro's headline is 4K export and access to all advanced AI models, plus faster processing and the ability to edit and proofread translation scripts. The important structural detail is that Pro is a band, not a point: it starts at 1,000 credits per month and scales up to 100,000, with the price rising accordingly. HeyGen's stated model is that you pick the Pro tier matching expected usage rather than buying credit packs.
Note that Pro is still a single seat. Collaboration begins at Business.
Business — $149/month plus $20/seat, 1,500 credits
Business is where HeyGen stops being an individual tool. It raises maximum video length to 60 minutes, doubles Pro's concurrency, and includes 5+ custom digital twins. The additions that justify the jump are organisational rather than creative:
- SAML / SSO, centralised billing, invites and team management
- Workspace collaboration, video draft commenting and editing, team templates, role controls
- Interactive video — quizzes, links, branching and decisioning
- SCORM export and LMS integrations
- Integrations with n8n, Make, HubSpot and Zapier
- Flexible top-up or auto-reload credits
Additional seats are $20/seat/month. This is the tier that replaced the old Team plan.
Enterprise — contact sales
No published price. Removes the video-duration maximum entirely, offers the fastest processing and highest concurrency, and adds multi-workspace control, proofreader seats for translation, SCIM user provisioning, enforced team-member MFA, audit logging, commercial terms, invoice billing, a dedicated CSM and tailored onboarding. Custom digital twins go to 10+.
The Credit Rates That Actually Matter
Headline prices tell you very little here, because a credit means different things per feature. HeyGen documents these rates:

Two of those deserve emphasis. Custom Expressive Motion doubles the cost of the scene it's applied to — HeyGen's own example is a 30-second scene billing 10 seconds of Avatar IV plus another 10 for the motion. And audio dubbing without lip-sync is uncapped on paid plans, which is a genuinely generous carve-out if your localisation need is voice rather than mouth movement.
What a Minute Costs
Avatar video at 1 credit per 3 seconds means 20 credits per finished minute:

Creator and Pro land at almost exactly the same cost per minute — Pro's premium buys 4K, all advanced models and translation script editing, not cheaper video. Business looks expensive per minute because you are paying for SSO, collaboration, SCORM and 60-minute videos, not for the render.
Video translation is far cheaper per minute than generation: at 5 credits per minute, Creator's 600 credits covers 120 minutes of lip-synced translation, versus 30 minutes of avatar generation.
Overage
Only Business can buy more credits mid-cycle. They cost $0.05 per credit in blocks of 100 for $5, with optional auto-reload. At 20 credits per minute that is exactly $1.00 per extra avatar minute — a clean number, and the one worth benchmarking rivals against, since teams that outgrow a plan usually buy overage rather than jumping tiers.
Creator has no overage path at all; you upgrade to Pro. Pro has no credit packs; you move to a larger Pro tier.
API Pricing
HeyGen's API is billed separately from Avatar and Video subscriptions.
- Pay-as-you-go — starts at $5, no commitment. Includes the Video Agent API, text-to-speech, video generation on Avatar III and IV engines, video translation, photo-avatar creation, template-based generation, access to the avatar / voice / template libraries, MCP server access and HeyGen Skills integration.
- Enterprise — contact sales. Adds customised scalability, dedicated developer support, the Digital Twin Creation API, the Proofread API and discounted rates.
The $5 entry point with no commitment is unusually low friction for this category, and MCP server access means you can drive HeyGen from an agent without writing an integration.
How This Compares
At the entry tier, HeyGen is no longer the cheapest way into avatar video. Synthesia's free Basic plan states up to 10 minutes of video per month at $0, and its paid Starter is $19/month. Colossyan's Starter is free or $27/month with 20 video minutes. HeyGen's $29 Creator buys more minutes (~30) than either, so the comparison turns on whether you value volume or entry price.
Where HeyGen is hard to beat is the top of the range: no published competitor matches Enterprise's removal of the duration cap combined with SCIM, MFA enforcement and audit logging.
