Runway vs Higgsfield (2026): Which Is Better for Ad Creative?
Runway vs Higgsfield for ad creative, verified 2026-10-26. Both now resell Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.0 and Veo 3.1, so we priced the same engines on both meters: Higgsfield is 2-3x cheaper on Kling and Seedance Fast, Runway is cheaper on Seedance 2.0, and only Runway sells Gen-4.5 and Aleph 2.0.
Prices and feature claims last verified against both vendors' own published pages on 2026-10-26.
Most "Runway vs Higgsfield" comparisons start from a framing that was true a year ago and is not true now: Runway is a model maker, Higgsfield is a reseller. Read the two pricing pages side by side today and the line has blurred. Runway's own pricing page now prints credit rates for Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.0, Veo 3.1, Wan 2.6, Grok Imagine and Nano Banana Pro next to its own Gen-4.5. Higgsfield still has no Runway models, but it sells most of the same third-party engines.
So the honest comparison has three parts:
- What only Runway sells — video models Runway trains itself: Gen-4.5, Aleph 2.0, Act-Two.
- What only Higgsfield sells — its own image and camera models (Soul, DoP, Speak) and ad apps (Ads Studio, Marketing Studio, AI Influencer).
- What both sell — the same Kling, Seedance and Veo engines, priced on two very different meters.
The third part is where most ad budgets go, and it is the part no other comparison has priced. We read both pricing pages on 2026-10-26, converted every shared engine into dollars per clip on each platform, and ran one ad brief through both price lists. We did not run a rendering test. No Runway model is available on fal, the third-party inference platform we use for first-hand tests, and we do not generate on Higgsfield at our own expense for a comparison of this kind. Where a claim below is about quality, it is the vendor's claim and is labelled as one. Neither product is ours; a short note on where Soku fits sits at the end.
The Short Answer
Choose Higgsfield if your work is high-volume hook and variant testing on cheap, fast engines, if you want packaged ad formats rather than shot-by-shot direction, and if a person in the web app does the generating. On Kling 3.0 and Seedance 2.0 Fast, Higgsfield's meter is two to three times cheaper per clip than Runway's, and its Plus and Ultra plans add 7-day unlimited windows on Kling 3.0 and Nano Banana 2.
Choose Runway if you want Gen-4.5 or Aleph 2.0, which only Runway sells; if you edit existing footage rather than only generating from scratch; or if any part of your pipeline is automated. Runway publishes a developer API at $0.01 per credit, includes MCP on Pro and Max, and has the cheaper credit at its top tier. It is also cheaper than Higgsfield on full Seedance 2.0 at 1080p.
Do not choose on the shared engines' quality. A Kling 3.0 clip is a Kling 3.0 clip on either platform. On those engines you are choosing a meter, a queue and a plan gate, not a look.
What Each Platform Actually Sells
Runway: its own models, plus a growing third-party shelf
Runway's own line-up, as listed with credit rates on its pricing page on 2026-10-26:
| Runway model | Type | Credits | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gen-4.5 | Text/image to video | 60 per 5s | Runway's FAQ states this as 12 credits per second |
| Aleph 2.0 | Video-to-video editing | 140 per 5s | Edits an existing clip rather than generating from nothing |
| Gen-4 Aleph | Video-to-video editing | 75 per 5s | Previous Aleph generation |
| Gen-4 Video | Text/image to video | 60 per 5s | |
| Gen-4 Video Turbo | Text/image to video | 25 per 5s | |
| Act-Two | Performance-driven video | 25 per 5s | |
| Gen-4 Image (1080p) | Image | 8 per image | |
| Gen-4 Image Turbo | Image | 2 per image |
The same table lists third-party engines at their own rates: Seedance 2.0 Pro 1080p at 160 credits per 4 seconds, Seedance 2.0 Fast at 116 per 4 seconds, Seedance 2.0 Mini at 64 per 4 seconds, Kling 3.0 Pro with audio at 85 per 5 seconds, Kling 3.0 Std with audio at 65, Kling 3.0 Turbo 1080p at 80, Kling 3.0 Motion Control 1080p at 85, Veo 3.1 and Veo 3 with audio at 320 per 8 seconds, Wan 2.6 1080p at 75, Grok Imagine 720p at 40, HappyHorse 1.0 1080p at 150, and Nano Banana Pro 2K at 20 per image. It also prices audio: Text to Speech at 1 credit per 50 characters, voice dubbing at 30 credits a minute, Lyria 3 Pro at 8 credits a song.
Seedance 2.5 appears as a logo on the Pro and Max cards but has no row in the consumer rate table. Its rate is published only in Runway's developer API pricing: 20 credits per second at 480p, 30 at 720p and 68 at 1080p, plus a charge for input and reference video and an 80-credit minimum per generation.
Higgsfield: other labs' engines, plus its own apps
Higgsfield's pricing page lists per-model rates, almost all marked with a "~" as approximate. On 2026-10-26 the video list covered Seedance 2.0 (720p, 1080p, 4K), Seedance 2.0 Fast, Seedance 1.5 and Seedance Pro; Kling 3.0, Kling Omni 3, Kling 3.0 and 2.6 Motion Control, Kling 2.6, 2.5 Turbo and 2.1; Google Veo 3.1, Veo 3.1 Fast, Veo 3 and Veo 3 Fast; Wan 2.2, 2.5, 2.6, 3.0 and 3.0 Prime; Grok Video; and Minimax Hailuo 2.3 and 02. A "View More" control hides further rows.
What only Higgsfield sells is mostly above the video engine: its own Soul and Soul 2.0 image models (0.25 and 0.12 credits per image), Higgsfield DoP camera-move models (3 to 7 credits per 3 seconds), Higgsfield Speak 2.0 for talking video, Face Swap, Character Swap, Popcorn and Product Placement on the image side, and three app surfaces with their own free-generation allowances: AI Influencer, Ads Studio and Genjutsu (Starter gets none on Genjutsu). Its navigation also lists Marketing Studio, whose template gallery is organised into UGC, product shot, motion, ads, posters, marketplace and TikTok.
No Runway model appears anywhere on Higgsfield's pricing page.

Team adds API access with credit-based usage, up to 100 Brand Kits, SSO and legal indemnification. Enterprise is priced by sales.
There is no unlimited generation tier on Runway's individual plans as of this check. The only "Unlimited" labels on the cards attach to 4K video upscaling and Topaz AI Upscale.
Higgsfield individual plans
| Plan | Monthly | Billed annually | Credits | Higgsfield's own throughput statement | Model access |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | Limited use | — | 1 concurrent job |
| Starter | $19 | $19/mo ("no difference compared to monthly") | 270, fixed | 135 Nano Banana Pro generations, ~15 Seedance 2.0 Fast videos | Selected models only: Seedance 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini. No unlimited models. Up to 2 parallel videos, 4 images |
| Plus | $59 | $47/mo (saves $144 a year) | 1,200, fixed | 600 Nano Banana Pro generations, ~80 Seedance 2.5 videos | All models and features. 7-day unlimited on Nano Banana 2 (2K) and Kling 3.0. Unlimited paid parallel generations |
| Ultra | $129 | $99/mo for 3,000 (saves $360 a year) | 3,000, 6,000 or 9,000 | 1,500 Nano Banana Pro generations, ~200 Seedance 2.5 videos | Everything in Plus, plus 7-day unlimited on Nano Banana Pro (2K) |
We read the price for the 3,000-credit Ultra tier only; the 6,000 and 9,000 options change the price and we did not capture those figures. Higgsfield's throughput estimates for Seedance 2.5 do not state the clip length or resolution behind them. Business plans start from $65 per seat per month for 2 to 15 seats, starting at 1,000 credits per seat and up to 37,500 pooled credits a month, and carry a "30-day unlimited Seedance 2.5" offer that Higgsfield says is available on business plans only. Prices exclude VAT and local taxes.
The terms that change the math
Higgsfield's unlimited is a web-only, standard-queue perk. The pricing page states that unlimited models and free generations "are accessible only via higgsfield.ai and are not accessible on MCP/CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer." Its FAQ adds that unlimited is for "personal, human use only," that "automation tools, credential sharing, or reselling access are strictly prohibited," that unlimited generations run in the standard queue while "credit-based generations always run in the priority queue," and that unlimited access may be paused for manual review. For a person iterating hooks by hand on Kling 3.0, the 7-day window can take that engine's cost to zero. For a script, an agent or a scheduled job, it does not exist.
Runway's credits are cheaper and more durable at the top. Runway's FAQ says Standard and Pro credits reset within 24 hours of the billing date, Max rolls up to one month of unused credits forward, and purchased credits never expire (minimum purchase 1,000 credits). Higgsfield's FAQ says subscription credits "do not roll over and expire at the end of each credit cycle," with annual plans refreshing every 30 days.
Higgsfield's entry tier is a different product. Starter cannot reach full Seedance 2.0, only Fast and Mini, and has no unlimited models. Runway's Standard card says "Access to all AI video & image models." If you are evaluating on a budget of under $20, Runway's entry plan is the more complete one, though it has less than a minute of Gen-4.5 in it.
Same Engine, Two Meters: What A Clip Costs
Because both platforms resell the same engines, the cleanest like-for-like comparison available is not a render test. It is the price of the same engine at the same length on each platform. Dollars per credit come from each plan's price divided by its credits; credits per clip come from each vendor's own rate table. All figures assume you spend every credit you buy and no unlimited window applies.
| Engine and clip | Runway credits | Runway Pro (annual, $0.0124/cr) | Runway Max (annual, $0.0080/cr) | Runway API ($0.01/cr) | Higgsfield credits | Higgsfield Plus (annual, $0.0392/cr) | Higgsfield Ultra (annual, $0.0330/cr) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.0, 1080p, 5s | 200 | $2.49 | $1.60 | $2.00 | ~60 | $2.35 | $1.98 |
| Veo 3.1, 1080p, 8s | 320 (with audio) | $3.98 | $2.56 | $3.20 | ~80 | $3.13 | $2.64 |
| Kling 3.0, 1080p, 5s | 80 (Turbo 1080p) | $1.00 | $0.64 | $0.80 | ~8 | $0.31 | $0.26 |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast, 5s | 145 | $1.80 | $1.16 | $1.45 | ~12 (720p) | $0.47 | $0.40 |
| Gen-4.5, 5s | 60 | $0.75 | $0.48 | $0.60 | Not listed | — | — |
Runway's Seedance and Veo figures are converted from its per-4-second and per-8-second rates. Higgsfield's Veo 3.1 rate is ~40 credits per 4 seconds at 720p or 1080p. Higgsfield does not label its Kling 3.0 rows by tier or say whether audio is included, while Runway splits Kling 3.0 into Pro, Std, Turbo and Motion Control variants; we paired the two rows both vendors label 1080p.
Three things fall out of that table:
- On the premium engines the two converge. At each platform's best annual rate, a Veo 3.1 8-second clip is $2.56 on Runway and $2.64 on Higgsfield. Full Seedance 2.0 at 1080p is actually cheaper on Runway Max, $1.60 against $1.98.
- On the cheap, fast engines Higgsfield wins by a wide margin. Kling 3.0 is about 2.5 times cheaper per clip on Higgsfield and Seedance 2.0 Fast about 3 times cheaper. Higgsfield's credit is four times as expensive as Runway's, but it charges a tenth of the credits for a Kling 3.0 clip.
- Runway's own model is its cheapest good option. Gen-4.5 at $0.48 to $0.75 per 5 seconds is cheaper per clip than every Seedance, Veo and Kling 3.0 option Runway resells, and you cannot buy it from Higgsfield at all.
For ad testing, that pattern matters more than any single price. Volume variants, which nobody will see at scale, belong on whichever platform prices the fast engine lowest. Hero cuts, which carry the budget, cost about the same on either.
One Brief, Both Price Lists
To make that concrete we priced one realistic month of creative testing on each platform. The brief: 20 five-second 9:16 hook variants for a product ad, plus 4 eight-second Veo 3.1 hero cuts at 1080p. We priced two routes on Runway, one using the same engines as Higgsfield and one using Runway's own Gen-4.5 for the hooks.
| Route | Hook credits | Hero credits | Total credits | Smallest plan that holds it | Pro-rata cost at that plan's credit rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Runway, Kling 3.0 Turbo hooks + Veo 3.1 | 20 x 80 = 1,600 | 4 x 320 = 1,280 | 2,880 | Max ($76/mo annual, $95 monthly) | $23.04 (Max annual) or $28.80 on the API |
| Runway, Gen-4.5 hooks + Veo 3.1 | 20 x 60 = 1,200 | 4 x 320 = 1,280 | 2,480 | Max (Pro's 2,250 falls 230 short) | $19.84 (Max annual) or $24.80 on the API |
| Higgsfield, Kling 3.0 hooks + Veo 3.1 | 20 x ~8 = ~160 | 4 x ~80 = ~320 | ~480 | Plus ($47/mo annual, $59 monthly) | $18.80 (Plus annual) |
| Higgsfield, same, hooks inside Plus's 7-day Kling 3.0 unlimited window | 0 | ~320 | ~320 | Plus | $12.53 (Plus annual), web app only |
Pro-rata, the routes land within about $10 of each other, because the four Veo 3.1 hero cuts dominate the bill and cost nearly the same on both. The real gap is at the plan level. The brief fits inside Higgsfield's $47 Plus plan with credits to spare, while on Runway it overflows Pro and forces either Max at $76 or a Pro top-up. Max's one-month rollover softens that, because the unused 6,600-plus credits carry into the following month; Higgsfield's unused Plus credits expire at the end of the cycle.
What the arithmetic leaves out is the part that decides most ad tests: how many of the 20 hooks were usable on the first try, and whether the 4 hero cuts needed regeneration. Neither vendor publishes a success rate, and we did not render this brief on either platform, so the table is a price for attempts, not for keepers.
Where Each One Is Stronger For Ad Creative
Runway is stronger when the work is direction and editing. Aleph 2.0 is Runway's own in-context editor for footage you already have; Higgsfield's rate list includes a third-party Grok Video Edit, but nothing of its own in that role. Its plans add Brand Kits from Pro upward, custom voice clones, HDR and ProRes output on Max, and frame-accurate commenting on Team. Its throughput statements are precise per model, so a budget can be planned before a single generation.
Higgsfield is stronger when the work is volume and packaged formats. Its meter is far cheaper on the fast engines ad teams use for variants, Plus and Ultra add unlimited paid parallel generations, and its app layer is built around ad outputs: Ads Studio, Marketing Studio templates for UGC, product shots and TikTok, and AI Influencer for recurring presenters. The trade is opacity and terms: most rates are marked approximate, the larger Ultra tiers' prices sit behind a toggle, and the best perk, unlimited, is excluded from every automated surface.
Automation favours Runway. Runway includes MCP on Pro and Max, sells a developer API with published per-second rates at $0.01 a credit, and adds API access on Team. Higgsfield lists MCP and an API in its navigation and references a CLI in its terms, but its unlimited models and free generations do not apply to them, and its fair-use rules prohibit automation tools on unlimited.
Predictability favours Runway. Rollover on Max, never-expiring top-ups and exact per-model rates make a monthly plan easier to forecast than credits that expire each cycle and unlimited windows that are promotional and time-boxed.
What Neither Of Them Does
Both are generation platforms. Runway's cards now promise to "generate, test and publish ads," and Higgsfield's apps are explicitly ad-shaped, but on both pricing pages the unit you pay for is a generation. Neither page describes reading back which of your clips earned its impressions in Meta or Google Ads, or deciding what to make next from that result. Whichever you pick settles who renders your pixels and on what meter, not whether the creative works.
Which One To Choose
Choose Higgsfield Plus if a person on your team generates high volumes of hooks and variants by hand on Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.0 Fast or Nano Banana, if you value ready-made ad formats over shot-level control, and if your monthly volume fits inside 1,200 credits. Skip Starter unless Seedance 2.0 Fast and Mini are genuinely enough.
Choose Runway Pro or Max if you want Gen-4.5 or Aleph 2.0, if you edit existing footage, if anything in your pipeline is scripted or agent-driven, or if you want credits that roll over. Choose the API instead of a plan if your volume is irregular: at $0.01 a credit with published per-second rates, it is the most predictable buy on either page.
Use both if your creative mixes cheap volume and premium hero work. On the shared engines, the cheap-variant half of the brief is two to three times cheaper on Higgsfield and the hero half is roughly a wash. Splitting the work by meter is a legitimate strategy and costs only a second subscription.
For the broader landscape, see our Higgsfield alternatives, the Runway AI model page, and our head-to-head of Higgsfield vs Kling, which covers buying Kling at source rather than through either platform.
Where Soku Fits
Since we build in this space: Soku is an AI advertising agent, not a model platform, and it does not resell Runway or Higgsfield. Here is what it actually runs, from its code:
- Soku does not run any Runway model. The generator on our Runway AI page runs MiniMax H3 (
minimax/h3/text-to-videoon fal) and names that engine in the generator, because no Runway model is available on fal. - Three of the shared engines in this comparison are available in Soku through fal: Kling 3 on the Kling 3 model page (
fal-ai/kling-video/v3/turbo/pro, 1080p, 3 to 15 seconds), Veo 3.1 on the Veo 3.1 model page (4, 6 or 8 seconds with audio), and Seedance on the Seedance video generator. The same engines are also in the Creatives canvas. Soku charges credits per generation, not a subscription to a model shelf. - Where Soku differs from both platforms is the step after the clip: it connects to ad accounts, can launch creatives into Meta campaigns, and syncs campaign performance back so the next round of variants starts from what actually ran. That does not make any engine cheaper or better than buying it from Runway, Higgsfield or fal directly.
