D-ID Pricing and Review (2026): Every Plan, Cost per Minute and Limits

D-ID pricing read from d-id.com on 2026-10-20: Studio Lite from $5.90, Pro from $29, Advanced from $196 a month (up to 45% off annually), API from $18. Cost per minute, the watermark ladder, 15-second rounding, and who it fits.

Prices and limits last verified against the vendor on 2026-10-20.

D-ID sells avatar video by the minute, and that's the first thing to understand about its pricing: every plan is a monthly minute allowance, and the plans differ mainly in licence and watermark, not in the price of a minute. This page is the price sheet and the evaluation in one. Every figure below was read from d-id.com/pricing/studio and d-id.com/pricing/api on 2026-10-20, logged out, in USD. If you've already decided D-ID isn't for you, the grouped shortlist of replacements is on D-ID alternatives.

Source: d-id.com/pricing/studio, plan cards and plan comparison table, read 2026-10-20. The page opens on annual billing; the monthly prices are the ones the same page shows on its monthly toggle, read from the page's own pricing data. Annual figures in brackets are D-ID's yearly totals. The slider labels its tiers in credits (Lite 40/52/64, Pro 60/100/240, Advanced 400/600/700); the minutes are D-ID's own conversion.

Three details matter more than the headline prices:

  • The annual discount isn't uniform. Lite is 20% off billed annually. Pro and Advanced are 45% off, which almost halves the bill. If you know you'll use D-ID for a year, Pro's 15-minute tier costs $191 a year instead of $348.
  • One balance covers everything. On Studio plans, a minute is a minute whether you spend it on a video, an agent conversation, Video Translate or an API call. D-ID's FAQ says API usage is deducted "from the same balance as your web version."
  • "Unlimited videos for your first month." Lite, Pro and Advanced cards all advertise unlimited videos in the first month, with a footnote pointing to D-ID's fair-use policy. That policy prohibits "excessive, abnormal" use, including automated or continuous use. Treat it as a generous trial, not a production plan.

D-ID API Pricing

D-ID also sells API-only plans on a separate page. They split the allowance into offline video (rendered files) and streaming (agents, live avatars, campaigns), with twice as many streaming minutes as video minutes.

Source: d-id.com/pricing/api, read 2026-10-20; monthly prices from the page's monthly toggle data. Annual discounts: 20% on Build, 30% on Launch and Scale. All paid API plans can store output in your own S3 bucket. From the published pairs, a credit works out to 15 seconds of video or 30 seconds of streaming; that ratio is our arithmetic, not a stated D-ID rate.

What a Minute Actually Costs

Dividing each plan's price by its minutes gives the number to compare against other tools:

Bar chart of D-ID cost per finished minute on each plan's entry tier, monthly versus annual billing, from prices read 2026-10-20: Studio Lite $0.59 or $0.47, Studio Pro $1.93 or $1.06, Studio Advanced $1.96 or $1.08, API Build $1.13 or $0.90, API Launch $1.11 or $0.78, API Scale $0.99 or $0.69

Three things stand out:

  1. Pro and Advanced cost the same per minute. About $1.93 to $1.97 billed monthly and $1.06 to $1.08 billed annually, on every tier. Advanced isn't a volume discount. You're paying for watermark control, more personal avatars and voice clones.
  2. Lite is very cheap per minute at $0.59, but you can't use it commercially, so it's out for ads.
  3. The API plans are cheaper per video minute than Studio. Launch's entry tier is $1.11 billed monthly against Pro's $1.93, and Scale gives you clean output at $0.99 a minute against Advanced's $1.96. The catch: API plans are built for developers. The API pricing page doesn't say whether they include the Studio editor, so don't count on it.

These figures assume you use every minute. Minutes expire at the end of each month, so a team that uses half its allowance pays double per minute.

How We Evaluated D-ID

We didn't buy a D-ID plan or render videos in it. This review is built from D-ID's Studio and API pricing pages (plan cards, comparison tables and pricing FAQ), the price data behind their monthly/annual toggle, the fair-use section of D-ID's terms, and its V4 Expressive Avatars tech-spec page, all read on 2026-10-20. Where we describe a limit, D-ID documents it. Where we describe quality, we say whose claim it is.

What D-ID Does Well

  • A very low paid entry price. $4.70 a month billed annually for 10 minutes is the cheapest paid presenter plan we priced for the alternatives list, as long as personal use and a watermark are acceptable. (Synthesia's free Basic plan also includes 10 minutes a month, but videos can only be shared by link, not downloaded.)
  • One avatar, one balance, several products. The same minutes cover rendered videos, live agents, Agentic Videos and translation. Teams that use a sales agent and short explainer videos with the same avatar don't need two vendors.
  • Real-time is where it's focused. D-ID's V4 tech-spec page claims under 500 ms conversational latency, a core model under 120 ms, and up to 4K output. It also publishes a June 2026 SyncNet lip-sync benchmark placing D-ID ahead of Anam, HeyGen and Tavus for real-time avatars. D-ID designed and ran that test itself, so take it as a claim to check with your own avatar, not an independent result.
  • API on every plan, including the trial. You can test the API before paying, and on Studio plans it shares your minute balance.
  • It fits into tools people already use. Every plan includes the Canva app, PowerPoint add-in and mobile app.

Where It Bites for Advertisers

The watermark ladder

D-ID's output branding changes at every step: full-screen watermark on Trial, a D-ID watermark on Lite, an "AI" watermark on Pro, and only from Advanced a custom logo or nothing. D-ID's FAQ explains this as transparency about synthetic content, which is a fair position. But for ads, it means the plan you'd pick on price (Pro at $29) and the plan you'd pick for clean creative (Advanced at $196) are $167 a month apart, for the same price per minute. HeyGen Creator and Synthesia Starter both remove their own branding at $29.

Lite and Build aren't for business use

Both entry plans carry a personal-use licence: "for non-business projects or individual use." The cheapest D-ID plans you can run ads with are Studio Pro ($29) and API Launch ($50).

Short ads pay for 15-second blocks

D-ID's pricing FAQ: "The length of the video is rounded up to the nearest 15-second interval." For long training videos that's noise. For ads, where many variants are 16 to 25 seconds, it adds up.

Diagram of D-ID's 15-second rounding: a 15-second spot bills 15 seconds, a 16-second spot bills 30, a 20-second spot bills 30, a 31-second spot bills 45. Ten 20-second variants are 200 seconds of video but 300 seconds billed
Diagram of D-ID's 15-second rounding: a 15-second spot bills 15 seconds, a 16-second spot bills 30, a 20-second spot bills 30, a 31-second spot bills 45. Ten 20-second variants are 200 seconds of video but 300 seconds billed

Worked example. You test ten hook variants a round, each 20 seconds long. That's 200 seconds of video, billed as 300 seconds (5 minutes). Pro's 15-minute tier covers three rounds a month. Cut the same scripts to 15 seconds and each round bills 150 seconds, so the same plan covers six rounds. On clean output, Advanced's 100 minutes cover 20 rounds of 20-second spots, which is $0.98 per spot billed monthly. Pro works out to $0.97 per spot, so you're paying the same per spot, just more of them at once.

Minutes don't roll over

"Minutes do not accumulate, they are renewed every month and unused minutes become void." Ad production is lumpy: a launch month, then a quiet month. On D-ID the quiet month's minutes are lost. HeyGen, by comparison, rolls monthly credits over for one extra month.

Collaboration and some marketing features are Enterprise-only

Team collaboration, SAML/SSO and translation proofreading are listed only on Enterprise. D-ID's Marketing Suite page says Video Campaigns, its personalized video for email and other campaigns, is "available to Enterprise customers only." The highest-quality Studio Avatar is an Enterprise add-on. A small agency on Advanced still works in single-user accounts.

Who Should Buy D-ID

  • Teams that use live agents and rendered videos together, especially if the real-time latency claims hold up in your own test.
  • Individuals making personal, non-commercial videos, where Lite's price is hard to beat.
  • Developers who want commercial avatar video at a predictable monthly price. API Scale's $0.99 a minute with clean output is competitive if you'll use the whole allowance.
  • Advertisers who accept an "AI" label and buy annually: Pro at $15.95 a month for 15 commercial minutes is cheap.

Who Shouldn't

  • Advertisers who need clean, unlabelled creative on a small budget. The jump from $29 to $196 a month is the main reason ad teams leave.
  • Teams with uneven volume. Expiring minutes and 15-second rounding both penalize irregular, short-form work. Usage-billed APIs or tools with credit rollover fit better.
  • Anyone who needs to collaborate in one workspace without an Enterprise contract.

If those describe you, our D-ID alternatives page groups the options by reason, with what ten 30-second spots cost on each.

The Verdict

D-ID's pricing is simple once you see the pattern: the price of a minute barely changes between plans, and what you're really buying is the right to use the video commercially and to remove the watermark. For personal videos and live agents it's good value, and its paid entry price is among the lowest in the category. For advertisers, the decision comes down to one question: is an "AI" watermark acceptable on your ads? If yes, Pro is a cheap, capable tool. If no, Advanced at $196 a month is hard to justify against competitors who remove their branding at $29.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does D-ID cost per month in 2026?

D-ID's Studio pricing page listed five plans on 2026-10-20. Trial is free for 14 days with 3 minutes. Lite is $5.90 a month for 10 minutes ($4.70 billed annually). Pro is $29 a month for 15 minutes ($15.95 billed annually), with larger tiers at $49 for 25 minutes and $118 for 60. Advanced is $196 a month for 100 minutes ($108 billed annually), with tiers at $294 and $343. Enterprise is priced by sales. Separate API plans start at $18 a month (Build, 16 minutes). All prices are in USD.

Does D-ID have a free plan?

Not a permanent one. D-ID offers a 14-day Trial with 3 minutes shared across videos, agents, translation and the API. Trial videos carry a full-screen watermark and a personal-use licence. After the trial, the cheapest plan is Lite at $5.90 a month, or $4.70 a month billed annually ($56 a year).

Is D-ID cheaper billed annually?

Yes, and by more on the upper plans. Lite is 20% cheaper billed annually. Pro and Advanced are 45% cheaper: Pro's 15-minute tier drops from $29 to $15.95 a month ($191 a year), and Advanced's 100-minute tier from $196 to $108 ($1,293 a year). On the API, Build is 20% cheaper annually, and Launch and Scale are 30% cheaper.

Can I use D-ID videos in ads?

Only from the Pro plan up. D-ID's plan comparison gives Trial and Lite a personal-use licence and Pro, Advanced and Enterprise a commercial-use licence; on the API, Build is personal and Launch and Scale are commercial. Pro videos also carry an "AI" watermark. The first Studio plan where you can replace the watermark with your own logo or leave it blank is Advanced, from $196 a month ($108 billed annually).

How does D-ID count minutes?

D-ID rounds each video up to the nearest 15 seconds before deducting it, so a 1:10 video uses 1:15 of your allowance and a 20-second ad uses 30 seconds. Minutes renew monthly and unused minutes expire. On Studio plans the same minutes cover videos, agents, Video Translate and API use. API plans list video and streaming minutes separately, with twice as many streaming minutes as video minutes.

How much does the D-ID API cost?

D-ID's API pricing page lists Trial (14 days, up to 3 minutes of video and 10 of streaming), Build at $18 a month (16 video or 32 streaming minutes), Launch from $50 (45 video or 90 streaming minutes, up to $149 for 135 or 270), Scale from $198 (200 or 400 minutes, up to $297 for 300 or 600) and Enterprise. Annual billing saves 20% on Build and 30% on Launch and Scale. Studio plans also include API access, drawing on the same minutes as the web app.

Did you test D-ID hands-on for this review?

No. We didn't buy a D-ID plan or render videos in it, so we don't grade its avatar quality, lip-sync or support. This review is built from D-ID's Studio and API pricing pages, including the prices for the monthly billing toggle, its pricing FAQ, its fair-use terms and its V4 tech-spec page, all read on 2026-10-20. Where we describe a limit, it's one D-ID documents itself.

Is D-ID worth it for advertisers?

It depends on the watermark. If an "AI" label on the video is acceptable, Pro at $29 a month for 15 commercial-use minutes is competitive, especially billed annually at $15.95. If you need clean output, Advanced costs $196 a month for the same per-minute price, which is a big step for a small team, while HeyGen and Synthesia remove their own branding at $29. D-ID makes most sense when you also use its live agents.
