Image to Video AI Upload a Still, Describe the Motion

Your image is the first frame.

Image to VideoStatic to Motion

Three deliberate steps

01

Upload the still that already works

A clean, well-lit, high-resolution frame animates well. A busy or low-resolution one animates its noise. Start from your best static ad, product shot or rendered frame — the video inherits everything about it.

02

Describe only the motion

Do not re-describe what is in the picture; the model can see it. Say what should move and how: the camera, the subject, the light, the background. One clear movement beats three vague ones.

03

Take it into the test

You get an MP4. Drop it into the Creatives canvas alongside the original still and run both — the static-versus-motion comparison on the same creative is one of the cleanest tests in paid social.

Use cases

Who reaches for this, and when

Turn a winning static into a video variant

You already know the image converts. Animating it gives you a video placement to test without a new concept, a new shoot or a new approval cycle.

Get motion out of a catalogue with no footage

Most ecommerce catalogues are stills only. Animating the existing product photography fills the video placements you are currently skipping.

Refresh a fatiguing creative without changing it

Same asset, new motion treatment, shipped the day the frequency curve turns rather than the week a re-shoot lands.

Questions before you run it

How is this different from a text-to-video generator?
Your uploaded image is the starting frame, so the subject, colours, composition and style are fixed by the file rather than invented from a description. That makes it far more faithful when you have a specific asset — a real product, a real photo — and useless when you do not, because there is nothing to continue from. If you have no image, use the AI video generator instead.
How many images can I upload?
One. The tool animates a single still; it does not interpolate between two frames or assemble a slideshow from several. If you need several shots, generate them one at a time and sequence them in the Creatives canvas.
Will my product stay recognisable through the whole clip?
Mostly, and it degrades with motion and length. The first frame is your image exactly; the further the clip travels from it, the more the model is inventing. Small text, fine logos and intricate labels are the first things to drift. Keep the motion modest and the clip short if brand marks have to stay legible, and check the last frame before you ship it.
What length and aspect ratio should I pick?
4 to 15 seconds, and the ratio your placement needs — 9:16 for Reels, Stories and TikTok, 1:1 for feed, 16:9 for YouTube. If your source image is a different shape from the output ratio, expect the model to reframe it, so upload a still that is already close to the ratio you want.
Is it free?
Generating requires a paid plan — Creator or higher. The Free plan does not include tool generation. Cost scales with duration and resolution and is shown before you run the job; 480p is roughly half the rate of 720p.
